Matrix Protects in Space As a primary supplier to the Space Shuttle program, Matrix produces autoclaved EPDM rubber covers for thermal protection of the struts holding the SRB to the external tank. The covers protect the attachment hardware and pyrotechnic fasteners during the first 6 minutes of flight.     Matrix gives Piper Aircraft more lift Matrix Composites currently manufactures various composite structures for the Meridian program.  These structures include dorsal and wheel fairings, interior ducting, and various carbon fiber and Nomex® honeycomb seat components.
