A Long History of Quality and Reliability - Precision Composite Fabrication

Established in 1993 by Dave Nesbitt and Ken Swarner, Matrix Composites quickly became a pioneer in the composites industry by applying precision composite fabrication using RTM processes, infusion processes, and trapped rubber molding to various applications in space and optics.

An Industry Pioneer Since 1993

As one of the first to successfully use the RTM process, Cyanate Esters (CEs) and Siloxanes, the closed-molding benefits of the RTM process are now a viable option in the fabrication of sensitive airborne optical components that require low weight, high thermal stability, and low outgassing.

One of Lockheed Martin's STAR Suppliers

In 1996, Matrix Composites began its role as one of Lockheed Martin's top-performing suppliers. Since then, Matrix Composites has furthered its Preferred Supplier Program status. We went from Bronze Level in 2001 to Silver Level, and in 2002, we achieved a highly prestigious STAR Level. Of the 60,600 suppliers to Lockheed Martin, only 1 percent achieved STAR Supplier status. We continuously earn higher achievement level ratings on quality, delivery, responsiveness, and process control.
